Nadia and Leon are the epitome of how opposites attract. Nadia’s sister, Nicole, even made a powerpoint presentation which she used in her speech on their wedding day to explain this to the guests.

But this is what makes them perfect for each other. They understand their differences and love each other even more for them. And this only makes them stronger. Before their wedding, I asked them what they had in common and they replied that they lived in the same house. When asked what they were opposites at their response was ‘just about everything!’ The best way to explain this is to look back at their vows that they read to each other on their wedding day.

Leon’s Vows to Nadia
I promise to love you as much as I love AFL and not to hold your obsession with shopping against you.
I will try not to complain when you take an hour to get ready or when you want to watch The Bachelor.
I promise to love you even when it takes you 5 attempts to reverse out the driveway or have to organise everything to an exhaustive detail.
I will try not to leave several pairs of shoes around the house and will try to fill the water jug up in the fridge when I use it.
As we begin our married life, I make the commitment to share my life with you. I will always be there for you as your partner and friend as we embrace new experiences together. I know we will enjoy the rest of our lives together.

Nadia’s Vows to Leon
I promise to love you as much as I love shopping and not to hold your obsession with AFL against you.
I will try not to complain when you want to watch the cricket or when you leave a trail of Weet-Bix in the kitchen.
I promise to love you even when you wear rainbow boardshorts or clothes from 10 years ago with holes in them.
I will try not to burn dinner every night and will try to wear the same dress more than once.
As we begin our married life, I make the commitment to share my life with you. I will always be there for you as your partner and friend as we embrace new experiences together. I know we will enjoy the rest of our lives together.

So one thing they definitely have in common is their relaxed sense of humour. Nadia and Leon had been in love for over 11 years before they got married. They knew for a long time that they were going to be together forever and they wanted their wedding day to be a big celebration with family and friends with some beautiful lifelong memories.

There were a couple of elements of their day that were really special to them. Leon handcrafted their ceremony arbour with timber from their own backyard. It was then decorated with gorgeous white flowers and greenery by the incredible Little Bird Bloom, who also put together those stunning bouquets and boutonnières. Leon left the rest of the styling up to Nadia who nailed the classic colour scheme and timeless details. Nadia adored her nude Made With Love gown and I’m almost certain she still wears it around the house once a week – well, I would if I looked that good in it! Nadia and her bride gang had their makeup done by the talented Jessica Marshall and hair by Sensoria. Leon scrubbed up in a sharp Hallentsein Bros suit and floral bowtie.

Their wedding cake matched in perfectly with their classic white and green theme and was created by the clever folk at Gumnut Patisserie. Their ceremony was conducted by the lovely Amy Watson and the entire celebration went down at Gibraltar Hotel, Bowral. This just goes to show that you can have a wedding on a golf course without it looking anything like a golf course! This expansive property has so many beautiful hidden spots between trees and over bridges. But whoever gave this bridal party golf carts and bottles of champagne was definitely game, as they are anything but tame!
